To check which variant you have you can reference the serial number on the underside of the unit: if the serial begins "SU" then you have the USB 1.1 variant if the serial begins "S2" then you have the USB 2.0 variant. There are two variants of the Saffire 6 USB - one is a USB 1.1 device and the other is USB 2.0. Focusrite will not be providing any further updates for the Saffire Range.
While the Saffire Range is compatible with macOS Big Sur on Intel-based systems it is NOT compatible with Apple Silicon (M1/ARM) systems. Please see our full statement regarding the end of development support for the Saffire Range here.

In 2019, after providing a final update to Saffire Mix Control, we publicly announced the end of any further development support for the Saffire Range. We have a new driver available on our beta site which we've tested to work on both Intel and Apple Silicon-based systems.

This version is currently available from the Downloads section of our site (select your product from the dropdown menu).
